Ah yes.. I've been craving and enjoying lots of chicken soup this month as well. Also tried our cinnamon raisin sourdough a few times... so good with butter and cream cheese!
Yum, I love sweet potatoes in soups and chilis. And butternut squash with chicken...I love any squash with chicken really. Crock-pots are great.. I don't have much for counter space with outlets right now so I don't use mine as much as I'd like.
Lovely to read (besides sickness, I hope everyone's feeling better!).
I've been using my Crock-Pot without recipes and seeing what happens. I made a ground beef and sweet potato chili that used up my CSA tomatoes and turned out delicious. I just made a chicken and potato and butternut squash soup that was warm and cozy but really could have used beans or noodles, but the Crock-Pot was already full to the top. Maybe I'll add some in today.
I started the latest Crock-Pot project too late in the day (my vegetable chopping kept getting interrupted through the day), so it got a couple hours on high and then I turned it on low overnight. It was so nice to wake up on a fall morning to the smell of chicken soup!
You know I love this, but am sorry you were sick.

I need to start making cinnamon raisin sourdough! Haven't done it yet.
Most of us are feeling better :).
